Pathways

I have recently started consistent therapy for the first time in my life. A recent separation, big intergenerational traumas being worked, my developing relationship to my responsibility to help shift the misogyny that exists everywhere in so many ways has meant that I've needed to seek help or perhaps perish under the weight of it all. Through this time I have continued to do art as it grounds me and gives me a place to put all the big feelings in a responsible fashion. Art, the muse, being a constant friend.

I've been reflecting on the necessity of my therapy for growth and synthesis and it's been incredibly important in those areas. All therapy and therapists not being equal, I took some care to find one that creates a container for my big things. And I'm so grateful to myself for taking that time to find the right one. I'm so grateful to this therapist who holds the container so ably. And I'm wishing that those of you who read this and are in a hard and lonely place find some solace and some encouragement. There is meaning. There are those who will listen. We carry wisdom deep within ourselves to change and grow and lead good and fulfilling lives. But we must take some action in order for the change to have space to occur. It's not a passive relationship, this desire for something different. We need to engage and continue to try new doors until we find one that presents a path that is intriguing, thoughtful, and life giving.

So with love and kindness and a wish for humans to strive towards their inherent beauty I encourage each and everyone of us to continue to seek wisdom for it's in these places we can grow, not just ourselves but the community and world around us
